[Well. Missing Gansey and Ronan. Noah and Adam don't have people to miss them, really, except Blue.]

[shut up, parrish's shitty self-esteem, the entirety of 300 fox way would be very upset if coca-cola shirt disappeared. and gansey's family, after cabeswater's little stunt after the party.]

And nothing is happening without us. Cabeswater will be fine, Glendower and the Barns will keep sleeping, Declan won't do anything idiotic, Matthew is safe, and Blue and her family won't be able to go do anything stupid in the caves without us there to assist in the stupidity.

This is the best possible outcome. It implies we will go home, and that nothing will be disturbed by our time here.

[of course, it also implies that they just have to wait it out, that escape is effectively impossible but release will eventually come. gansey doesn't feel like he has to point this out to adam, who is more clever than gansey will ever be.]

Still not sure what to tell Ronan. He won't like it, but keeping it from him seems wrong.

[Nothing in particular has prompted the start of this conversation, it's been one Noah has actually been meaning to have with Adam for a long time. Waiting has not yielded any ideas for how to start it gracefully, however, so instead the first text comes in the early morning hours, not absurdly so, but Noah didn't sleep well back on the train and this was one thing he kept rolling over in his mind. If only to avoid thinking about other things.]

Are you awake?

[Adam hasn't been sleeping as much as he might normally, which has left him tired most of the time, but also currently awake. It's only minutes before he replies.]

Yes. Everything ok?

[No need to make him worry, after all, that one is sent quickly. God, how does he even...? Just get it out, Noah. The next message comes fairly quickly after the first.]

I wanted to talk to you about Whelk.

some point after the cars have switched. indeterminable time.

(Takes Max a little while to figure out how to do what Adam had showed him. But he's quick. Remembers it soon enough and finding Adam's name doesn't take him long.

He approaches a text conversation very much the same as a normal one: straight to the point.)

[This is a rather mysterious message to Adam, considering Ronan completely failed to do anything like, say, tell him about this. So it takes awhile for him to respond - mainly because he has to find Ronan (and luckily they are in the same train car), ask him what the hell this is about, and sigh heavily when he finds out and realizes Ronan totally failed to mention it. Only then can he finally respond, about twenty minutes later.]

Sorry - he forgot to tell me. I think he wants you to teach me instead, if that's all right.

[And luckily, again, introductions aren't needed, since Adam could figure out who Ronan was talking about thanks to his... eloquent descriptions. Not that Adam knows his name, but it's enough.]

(There's no anticipation of waiting on Max's side of the line. He's not used enough to communicating with cell phones to be particularly anxious in how long it takes someone to get back to him. However, when he does receive the message, he can't help but frown a little bit.)
