[Adam follows, letting Ronan tug him onto the boat. The floor - deck? - is steady beneath his feet for now, the water close to shore being rather calm right now, but he knows it won't last. At least he's pretty sure he won't get seasick - and at least it's not flying.]

Oh, I'm the captain?

[He grins, pleased by the thought. He might not have had the luxury of daydreaming as a kid, but that doesn't mean he can't indulge a little now.]

I guess that makes you my first mate. The fearsome Dread Pirate Lynch.

Has a pretty good ring to it.

[Once Adam is on board, Ronan moves toward the docks and begins to unwind the rope keeping them tethered, truly intending to sail like he'd made known earlier.]

What do the fearsome pirates Parrish and Lynch get up to, when they're not pillaging and plundering?

[The rope fully untethered now, he straightens up and moves back to fiddle with the sail. The boat isn't really moving much, tides being what they are, but with the wind picking up, they'll be able to get out of here soon.]

[He watches Ronan, mainly because he wants to have some idea of what he'll have to do if, say, Ronan gets knocked out and they have to get back to land. It's good to be prepared.

Also, he just likes being able to watch Ronan.]

I mean, isn't that pretty much it for pirates? Pillage, plunder, drink some rum, sing sea shanties. I guess we'll have to learn some sea shanties.

[Just in case, Adam checks to make sure there's a pair of oars tucked away. Some way to get back if they end up stuck.]

You probably know some. Right?

[Ronan moves to kick them off from the dock before returning to Adam's side, reaching out to squeeze at his shoulder with a little smile. Shameless, he breaks out into song as if to demonstrate, something bawdy about a maiden fair and- a seal, maybe?

It only lasts for a verse or two before he tapers off, eyeing Adam for a reaction.]

I'll teach you! We've got time.

[He's grinning, he can't help it. The truth is, Ronan has a great voice. Though of course he'd have to, wouldn't he? Adam still fondly remembers Gansey spilling the truth about Ronan's musical past. For too long, Adam had assumed Ronan's only musical taste was absolutely awful. Now - well, he's not sure he's changed his opinion, but he wouldn't mind listening to a bit more.]

I can't sing. I think you're gonna have to carry a tune for both of us.

[He can sing well enough, as well as anyone, but compared to Ronan? He knows which he'd prefer.]

Besides, I think I need to hear the end of this. It was just starting to get good.
