Still, Aspen is sweet and Ronan sees no point in treating him any differently than he'd treat Chainsaw, and so he always just lets it go. He knows that Adam is more protected than ever with Aspen around- the dog follows him to the clinic, to the orchard, wherever he wants to go and Ronan remembers that it was created to save him- so why would real life be any different?]
